Our Policies
We are committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all our students. Please review our key policies below.
1. Registration and Enrolment
All students must complete the registration process and provide accurate information. Enrolment is subject to availability and acceptance of these terms and conditions. We reserve the right to refuse enrolment at our discretion.
2. Fees and Payment
Tuition fees must be paid in advance according to the agreed payment schedule. Late payment may result in suspension of services. Refunds are only provided in exceptional circumstances and at the discretion of management.
3. Attendance and Punctuality
Regular attendance is essential for academic progress. Students are expected to arrive on time and attend all scheduled sessions. Persistent lateness or absence may result in review of the student’s place at the centre.
4. Student Conduct
All students must behave respectfully towards staff and other students. Disruptive behaviour, violence, or discrimination will not be tolerated and may result in immediate exclusion from the programme.
5. Health and Safety
We maintain comprehensive health and safety procedures. Parents/guardians must inform us of any medical conditions, allergies, or special requirements. Emergency contact information must be kept up to date.
6. Data Protection
We collect and process personal data in accordance with GDPR regulations. Information is used solely for educational purposes and safeguarding. Data is stored securely and not shared with third parties without consent.
7. Cancellation Policy
Classes cancelled by the centre will be rescheduled or credited. Student cancellations require 24 hours notice. Emergency cancellations may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Our Commitment
Genius Tuition is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and young people. We believe that all children deserve protection and have the right to learn in a safe environment.
Staff Training and Vetting
All staff undergo enhanced DBS checks and receive regular safeguarding training. We maintain detailed records of all checks and training. Staff are trained to recognize signs of abuse and know how to respond appropriately.
Reporting Procedures
Any concerns about a child’s welfare must be reported immediately to the Designated Safeguarding Lead. We work closely with local authorities and follow established protocols for reporting and investigating concerns.
Physical Contact and Supervision
Physical contact with children is kept to a minimum and only when necessary for safety or learning purposes. All activities are supervised and one-to-one sessions are conducted in open areas or rooms with windows.
Online Safety
We have robust online safety measures including filtered internet access, supervised computer use, and clear guidelines for online learning platforms. Students receive education about staying safe online.
Photography and Recording
Written consent is obtained before photographing or recording children. Images are used solely for educational or promotional purposes and stored securely. Parents can request removal of images at any time.
Definition of Bullying
Bullying is defined as repeated aggressive behaviour intended to hurt, intimidate, or control another person. This includes physical, verbal, emotional, and cyber bullying. We take all forms of bullying seriously.
Prevention Strategies
We create a positive learning environment through clear expectations, mutual respect, and celebration of diversity. Students receive guidance on appropriate behaviour and conflict resolution skills.
Reporting Bullying
Students, parents, and staff are encouraged to report bullying immediately. Reports can be made verbally or in writing to any member of staff. All reports are taken seriously and investigated promptly.
Investigation Process
All allegations are investigated fairly and thoroughly. Both the alleged victim and perpetrator are interviewed separately. Witnesses may also be interviewed. Parents are informed throughout the process.
Consequences and Support
Appropriate consequences are applied based on the severity and frequency of incidents. Support is provided to both victims and perpetrators. This may include counselling, mediation, or behaviour intervention plans.
Monitoring and Follow-up
All bullying incidents are recorded and monitored. Follow-up meetings are held to ensure the bullying has stopped and that all parties are receiving appropriate support. Records are kept confidential.
Cyber Bullying
We address cyber bullying that affects our students, even if it occurs outside our premises. Students receive education about responsible internet use and the consequences of online bullying.
